itel Mobile, official sponsor of the “Campus Queen” contest organised by Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria, has marked the event with the launch if its new model it1556. The smartphone features a colourful 5.5" ample screen and a 5,000 mAh colossal battery that supports over 30 days on standby with just a single charge.


The new handset makes its debut in several African countries with a variety of promotional events and digital activities. In Nigeria, itel chooses to sponsor the OOU Campus Queen event, held on July 16th with over 1300 spectators, as its first step to promote the new model among students. The it1556 was offered to each of the 5 winners beside with amazing prizes like TV, refrigerator, microwave and remuneration. By sponsoring this beauty pageant, the it1556 gain significant awareness in Ogun state and South West Nigeria.


Half a month earlier, itel organised a related Facebook activity with the election of “Miss itel Power”. The digital event generated over 6600 likes, 266 000 people reach along with numerous comments and shares.
